Gold Rebounds from One-Week Low as
Dollar Retreats
Singapore, 15 Oct 2026 (ONA) — Gold
prices rose more than one percent today, rebounding from a one-week low touched
in the previous session, as the dollar retreated and investors weighed the
likelihood of a US interest rate hike this month following a report pointing to
rising inflation.
Spot gold climbed 1.3 percent to
$4,158.63 an ounce after hitting its lowest level since October 7 on Wednesday.
US gold futures for December
delivery gained 1.8 percent to $4,180 an ounce. The dollar weakened after
reaching an 18-month high overnight. A weaker dollar makes the precious metal,
priced in the US currency, less expensive for holders of other currencies.
Market attention now turns to
producer price index and retail sales data due at 12:30 GMT. Among other
precious metals, spot silver rose 1.1 percent to $56.26 an ounce, platinum
advanced 0.3 percent to $1,611.15, and palladium gained 1.3 percent to
$1,107.83.
